Public Trustee

The role of Public Trustee is to offer and provide to all South Australians a comprehensive range of quality, independent trustee and allied services.

Public Trustee was founded on 1 January 1881 by the State Government for the safe and economic administration of deceased estates. Over the years the office has grown and assumed additional responsibilities, although estate administration has remained a core business activity.

Public Trustee services include:

  • Preperation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Power of Guardianship.
  • Administration and trustee services.
  • Taxation services.
  • Financial and prudent investment services.

The Public Trustee can assume special responsibilities for people who are unable to manage their own financial or legal affairs. The Public Trustee also provides a range of other financial and legal services for clients.
