South Australian Government Response to Smart Justice 

Judge Peggy Fulton Hora (Ret) was appointed as South Australia’s 17th Thinker in Residence to examine the strengths of the justice system and recommend new approaches and programs. The State Government has released its response to her report.

 

ICAC Bill to establish powerful anti-corruption body

The State Government is introducing a Bill to create an Independent Commissioner Against Corruption with powers equal to any crime fighting body in Australia.

 

Combatting Serious and Organised Crime

The Government is initiating a two-part crime strategy to further protect our community from the scourge of organised crime. The first part will not focus on who a person is, but on what they do. The second part involves the appropriate repair of the Serious and Organised Crime (Control) Act 2008 (SOCCA).
