What is the difference between the Crown Solicitor's Office and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions?
Both are agencies within the Attorney-General’s Department.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is an independent entity whose sole function is to prosecute serious crimes. The role of the Crown Solicitor's Office (CSO) is much broader involving a wide range of legal work. The Administrative and Industrial Unit of the CSO has a prosecutorial function in relation to disciplinary matters for a number of professional bodies (for example the Medical Board of South Australia and South Australian Dental Board).
For more information visit the Crown Solicitor's Office or the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions on this site.
How do I make a complaint about a retailer?
The Office of Consumer and Business Affairs (OCBA) can assist with complaints where the goods and services are advertised and purchased in South Australia. For those outside South Australia please refer to your local consumer/business affairs agency.
