Making a Will

Everyone over 18 should have a legal Will.

A Will clearly defines who manages a person's estate (the executor) and describes how that person's assets are distributed after he/she has died . A Will must be in writing and it must be signed by the person making the Will and two, preferably independent, witnesses.

Public Trustee is well known for preparing Wills and other legal documents. Up to 4,000 Wills are written or revised by Public Trustee every year with more than 130 000 Wills held in safe custody.

Wills can be made at Public Trustee’s city head office in Franklin Street or at seven suburban locations and 17 regional and rural centres.
