Efficiency changes proposed for major crime cases

Changes being proposed to the way court cases for major crimes are processed aim to make the justice system more efficient, easing the burden on victims and reducing backlogs in the courts.

In 2014-15, more than a third (35 per cent) of all criminal trials across the Supreme and District Courts in Adelaide were vacated due to late guilty pleas.
