New child protection laws to be introduced to Parliament

State Parliament's first sitting week for 2017 will include debate on new laws governing South Australia's child protection system.

New laws governing South Australia’s child protection system will be debated during the first sitting week of State Parliament in 2017.

The Children and Young People (Safety) Bill 2017 will be introduced to Parliament on the week of 13 February 2017

The Bill will replace the current Children’s Protection Act and ensures the safety of children and young people is the paramount priority above all else, while giving a voice and better representation to children and young people under guardianship in decisions that will affect their lives.
