New liquor-licensing system to reflect contemporary needs

28 September 2016

A streamlined liquor-licensing system which reflects the public's contemporary needs coupled with tougher sanctions for breaches by licensees will be proposed in a set of reforms by the State Government.

Under planned changed, unnecessary red tape will be cut, hotels will be able to choose when to serve meals and significant penalties will be imposed to crack down on the irresponsible supply of liquor to minors at after-parties and schoolie functions.
