South Australia will have a Small Venues Licence after the legislation was supported in the Upper House today.
The new licence will mean that small venues of up to 120 patrons will no longer face the huge legal bills that result from individuals or businesses objecting to their establishment.
The Small Venue Licence is part of a strategy to increase 'vibrancy' in the city and make Adelaide a better place to live, work and visit.
This strategy includes reinvigorating laneways like Leigh Street and soon Bank Street.
The Liquor Licensing (Small Venue Licence) Amendment Bill will come into operation on a date yet to be proclaimed.
