Office of the Surveyor-General

The Office of the Surveyor-General is the primary government authority on surveying and the cadastre (land property boundaries and tenure).

The role of the Surveyor-General includes responsibilities for South Australia's:

  • land surveying
  • integrity of the cadastre
  • land administration
  • foundation spatial data
  • positioning (geodetic) infrastructure
  • Roads opening and closing
  • geographic place names
  • Adelaide Park Lands Plan
  • leadership role within the profession
