The Return to Work Act 2014 established a scheme to support workers and employers when a work injury occurs. Three years after it commenced, an independent review was carried out as required in the Act.
Summary of findings
The review recommended reforms to allow for the speedy resolution of disputes through:
- more robust investigation
- transparency in decision-making
- more rigorous record-keeping.
Incremental changes were suggested to improve the experience for workers, employers and other stakeholders
