The Return to Work Act 2014 (“the Act”) commenced on 4 December 2014. The Act established the Return to Work Scheme to support workers and employers when a work injury occurs.
Section 203 of the Act requires the Minister for Industrial Relations to cause a review of the Act and its administration and operation on the expiry of three years from its commencement.
On 14 November 2017, the South Australian Government appointed former Justice of the Federal Court of Australia, the Hon. John Mansfield AM QC, to conduct an independent review of the Act and its administration and operation pursuant to section 203 of the Act.
The review commenced on 4 December 2017. The review will be completed within six months of its commencement.
The review will invite written submissions from the public and other interested parties and will ultimately produce a written report with recommendations for the Government’s consideration.
