2016 Review into the Mining Act 1971 (SA)

Wednesday, November 29, 2017 -
16:00 to 17:15

Presented by Daniel Woodyatt and Kirsty Braybon of the Minerals Resources Division, Department of State Development, and Alex Wawryk of Adelaide Law School.

Last September, the SA Government announced the Leading Practice Mining Acts Review of the Mines and Works Inspection Act 1920 (SA), the Mining Act 1971 (SA) and the Opal Mining Act 1995 (SA). The Review aims to modernise South Australia's mining legislation and ensure the State is a leader in best-practice regulation of the mining industry.

Daniel Woodyatt and Kirsty Braybon of the Minerals Resources Division, Department of State Development, and Alex Wawryk of Adelaide Law School, will provide an update on the status of the Review, with comments on the potential implications for the industry, legal practitioners, regulators and the community.
