Each year, Australians come together to celebrate NAIDOC Week and to honour the history, cultures, contribution and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
In 2022, NAIDOC Week is celebrated from 3 to 10 July and the theme is Get up! Stand up! Show up!. This theme encourages all of us to champion institutional, structural, collaborative, and cooperative reforms, while celebrating those who have already driven and led change in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities over generations.
Any planned events and public gatherings need to adhere to COVID-19 safe requirements to reduce the risk of catching and spreading the virus in the community.
The commitment and tireless work of the state, regional and local NAIDOC committees, organisations and individuals is essential to the success of NAIDOC Week.
