Each year, Australians come together to celebrate NAIDOC Week and to honour the history, cultures, contribution and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

In 2026, NAIDOC Week will be celebrated from 5 to 12 July with the theme 50 Years of Deadly (external site) (external site). This year's theme marks a milestone. It is a tribute to the people who built this movement, the Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.

Government agencies, organisations and communities across South Australia will host events and participate in activities to celebrate NAIDOC Week. We encourage you to join in this year's events where you can. See the events in the online calendar below.

The commitment and tireless work of the state, regional and local NAIDOC committees, organisations and individuals is essential to the success of NAIDOC Week.
