Shops across Adelaide will be able to open until midnight on Thursday 17 December, Tuesday 22 December and Wednesday 23 December. The dates were chosen after consultation between businesses, shopping centres and unions.
Over $66 million was spent in the City of Adelaide across three Midnight trading nights in 2025. Friday 19 December 2025 saw the highest daily spend of the year, with over $28 million spent in one day.

The Shop Trading Hours (Extension of Hours) Amendment Act 2022 also enabled shops across Adelaide to open at 9am on Sundays and to permanently allow Boxing Day trading in the city and suburbs, with the exception of larger supermarkets.
Previously, shops across Adelaide opened on Sundays from 11am to 5pm and only shops in the Adelaide CBD could open on Boxing Day, trading from 11am to 5pm.
Shops in regional South Australia are deregulated and can trade whenever they choose.
